The next generation is headed towards blockchain and Web3 technology like a speeding train, and those who do not adapt are sure to be left behind. With a plethora of blockchain companies that compete against each other to be the most widely used, new innovations and solutions that are meant to outperform competitors are a dime a dozen.

In the beginning, Nitro Network operated on the Ethereum blockchain. However, with high gas fees, inefficient transaction time, and Ethereum’s upgrade becoming a slow grind, the movement to a better alternative became increasingly attractive. Nitro Network had its eyes set on Avalanche.

The Avalanche team has its feet firmly planted into Web3, and Nitro Network is proud to be partnered with it. That being said, let’s take a closer look at both protocols and see exactly why Nitro Network’s future better aligns with Avalanche.

What works for Ethereum (ETH) and what does not

Ethereum is one of the first platforms for decentralized applications (DApps) that captured a worldwide following. Despite Ethereum being a last-generation blockchain and no longer suiting our needs, the blockchain has many things going well for it as the most widely used network with a dedicated sea of developers. Many of the biggest DApps are built on Ethereum, such as decentralized finance apps and blockchain games. Ethereum is still a solid choice for many blockchain projects because it suits the needs of many protocols even to this day.

There are, however, some glaring issues with Ethereum that rise to the surface, and the Nitro Network team recognized these problems, taking immediate action. Let’s go over a few:

  • Computation: Proof-of-work (PoW) requires much more computational power than next generation solutions like proof-of-stake (PoS). Ethereum’s PoW blockchain slowed down Nitro Network and did not fit in with our need for next-generation efficiency.
  • Low transaction speed (TPS): With PoS for Ethereum still far away, possibly delayed even further, this low transaction speed of 15 TPS delays payment processing. With the vast, interconnected communications network that Nitro Network is attempting to achieve, these slow speeds were problematic.
  • Safety: Although Ethereum is attempting to move to PoS and increase safety measures, Ethereum is still prone to these concerns. Ethereum has even split the network before because of a hack, producing Ethereum and Ethereum classic.

Why Nitro Network chose Avalanche (AVAX) over Ethereum

Avalanche is the platform which will house the next generation of DApps. Like Ethereum, Avalanche uses smart contracts to create a platform for the creation of DApps. From its genesis, Avalanche has embraced PoS, and the network is poised to be the leading platform for businesses to create Web3 applications. On January 21, 2022, Emin Gün Sirer, the CEO of Ava Labs which manages the Avalanche blockchain, tweeted that Avalanche had processed 1.1 million transactions, approximately 96% of Ethereum’s load with about 2000% less fees — at that time, the fee on the Ethereum network was $62.00, which towered over Avalanche network’s fee of $0.23.

The Avalanche network is already looking like a primary rival for Ethereum, and a multitude of projects are pivoting their protocols to Avalanche. When taken as a whole, Avalanche better serves the needs of Nitro Network. Since we previously went over the glaring issues of Ethereum, let’s now go over the solutions that Avalance proposes:

  • Computation: Not only is Avalanche more streamlined in its processes, but its computational efficiency is through the roof — so much so that it is considered an eco-friendly ecosystem. Because IoT revolves around efficiency, this is of utmost importance to Nitro Network.
  • High transaction speed: Avalanche operates at 4,500 TPS, leaving Ethereum’s 15 TPS in the dust. As Nitro Network connects a network of IoT solutions, this speed will be paramount in building the infrastructure that the team is envisioning.
  • Safety: Avalanche has an 80% safety threshold, an eye-popping number, considering that Ethereum is susceptible to a 51% rate of attack. Avalanche is a blockchain that prioritizes safety to a high degree and partnering with them eases the team’s worries about the blockchain being exploited.

NCash and NFMs

Avalanche has too many upsides to ignore. As the Nitro Network team increasingly works with Avalanche, the more we realize how aligned it is to our vision. NCash, the fuel of the entire Nitro Network and the network’s native token, is now an Avalanche-based token. Therefore, users who want to earn massive rewards and be a part of the future of Avalanche and Nitro Network, should take advantage of Nitro Network’s Non-fungible Miners (NFMs), which provide users with Avalanche-native NCash every half hour! With a Nitro Network NFM, users can enjoy the visual brilliance that is a Nitro Bot NFM, while generating passive rewards and supporting the network that is determined to shape the future of Web3!

About Nitro Network

Nitro Network is building the largest decentralized private communication network powered by IoT combined with LoRaWAN and 3G/4G/5G. This hyperconnected world will enable unlimited use cases in our everyday life. Participants of Nitro’s decentralized PCN are part of an inclusive ecosystem that they own, operate and earn from. Nitro’s PCN will be a game-changer and has its proprietary token, NCash, at its core. On Nitro Network, everybody wins!
