Here’s a riddle for the Nitro Network community: What does a farm, a cement factory and a residential complex have in common?

This might be a tricky one for those not reading the most recent articles, so here is the answer: Nitro Network! Since the inception of Nitro Network, both in its white papers and articles, the team has mentioned how it will leverage the Internet of Things (IoT), LoRaWAN (long-range, wide-area networks) and 5G technologies to create a decentralized private communications network (PCN) with its token, NCash, at its heart.

Even in the midst of a bear market, the team has managed to build on this vision. Specifically, the Nitro Network team has successfully assimilated its IoT solutions into three independent businesses!

Let’s take a look at each of these “smart” use cases.

IoT deployment for a smart poultry farm

A poultry farm in Telangana, India was facing many challenges monitoring its farm. Most of the operations were carried out manually, which was leading to costly waste and an inability to maintain desired quality standards.

As a result of the inefficiency of manual labor, it was estimated that up to 15% of the farm’s eggs were wasted every month. Additionally, water consumption across the poultry farm was not being monitored properly, sp excess spillages, maintenance fees and constant repairs were eating into the farm’s profits.

Nitro Network approached these manual deficiencies of the farm using its IoT technology and quickly developed solutions that optimized and automated processes. The team, for example, installed IoT-powered temperature and humidity sensors, enabling precise, instantaneous measurements of air conditioning systems around the farm. This allowed the farm operators to improve the quality of the air and optimize their air conditioning running time by 20 to 25%.

The team applied its IoT solutions to the farm’s water management system, as well, via smart water meters. These enabled constant monitoring of the farm’s water sources and, with the help of sensors, the Nitro team developed an IoT Pump Control System to automate responsible water distribution.

Using its IoT solutions and fine-tuned sensors, the Nitro Network quickly solved many of the farm’s deficiencies, saving it valuable time and money.

IoT deployment for smart water metering

Traveling toward Pune, India, the Nitro Network team was met with another client experiencing several operational deficiencies. The client, a residential real estate project with 700 apartments, had been dealing with constant water overconsumption, waste and overflow. In addition to added water costs, the accumulation of water issues eventually led to frequent breakdowns in water trucks and huge costs for repair and maintenance.

With its eyes yet again focusing on utilizing IoT, the Nitro Network team deployed its technological solution to the residential cluster, applying smart water meters at source points and major consumption areas. An IoT pump control system and sensor were also incorporated into the solution. As a result, the building’s management team was able to precisely monitor water usage and responsibly automate water consumption patterns for maximum efficiency.

Specifically, this led to:

  • A 5–6% reduction in unnecessary water consumption.
  • Up to a 50% reduction in water pump damages via optimized performance metrics.
  • Precise monitoring for informed decision-making using valuable data insights about water source inputs and consumption.

IoT deployment for the HVAC system

Moving away from farms and residential areas, the Nitro Network team met its next client at a cement factory. Like previous examples, this factory was experiencing high energy consumption and excessive costs due to operational inefficiencies. The client’s heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system had been operating for up to 20 hours a day, which was far beyond the required limit.

Guess what the solution to this operational problem was? For those that answered IoT, congratulations! Hopefully, this was a bit easier than the first riddle to start the article. Jokes aside, the Nitro Network team did some serious work alleviating the client’s concern by applying an HVAC automation system that worked on individual room temperatures.

This reduced running time and energy consumption, which ultimately led to:

  • A 30% reduction in electricity consumption.
  • Cutting manpower costs of HVAC operations by 80% via automated operational efficiencies.
  • A reduction of needed manpower by saving 85% of overhead costs.
  • An extension of the HVAC system’s life span due to decreased workload.
  • The collection of valuable real-time data on room temperature and humidity.

What can be learned from these case studies?

The Nitro Network team has long advertised the ubiquity of its IoT solutions. Now, the team shows its vision through proven case studies. Amongst the themes found in these case studies are:

  • The use of IoT across a number of industries.
  • IoT’s ability to automate activities, creating “smarter” versions of existing systems.
  • IoT’s ability to reduce costs and induce responsible management processes.

The Nitro Network team looks to continue building on these partnerships. Make sure to follow Nitro Network on all social platforms to stay current with its further developments. Thank you!
